Mission Buenaventura
We decided to rustle up the dogs and head to Ventura to check out the last mission close enough to us to easily drive to. Mission Buenaventura is near the coast in the City of Ventura about 45 minutes from us (with traffic though it took about one and a quarter hours to get there). […]

Castle Green tour
Castle Green is a large multi-residence building in Pasadena; we’ve been past it often and admire it’s Moorish architectural influences. Today, we got to attend the tour – they open the building two times a year for people to walk through, arranging to have some of the condos and apartments open to view, and people […]

Finally saw the Los Angeles Dodgers today
And I have the sunburn to prove it. Our extended development team (including engineers, quality assurance, business analysts and project managers) went to Dodger Stadium to see the Dodgers get whipped by the Reds 7 to 2. We had fun anyway; one of our running jokes was how many more innings the Dodgers would need […]

Pics from the dog park
The Sepulveda Off-Leash Dog Park is about 15 minutes from our home; we love to take Iggy and Jett there, they run around with the other small dogs and have a great time! If you’re staying in the valley with your dog consider bringing him or her over to the park. Here are some pictures….

Nathan’s first day in LA; Aviva’s birthday dinner
Nathan, my son (@thegeo on ‘the Twitter’), flew in last night. Today, we drove all over the valley shopping – he was looking for some specific comic books and figures, and he ended up finding almost everything he was looking for. And of course tomorrow is Aviva’s birthday so we went out tonight for her […]

The Watts Towers
We were heading to Little India in south LA and saw the exit to the Watts Towers – we hadn’t been there so we took the sidetrip, and it was worth it. Very amazing, worth the trip if you visit LA; if you want to go inside you have to go on a tour and […]

Palm Desert (with pics and a video of course!)
We visited Aviva’s mom and her boyfriend; we figured we were due a long weekend away from the valley. So we bundled up Iggy and Jett, loaded the Prius and took off. The drive was easy – we left on Saturday and hit no traffic – what a nice change for LA… We had a […]

The San Fernando Mission
We’re finally getting back to doing tourist stuff around southern California, so today we decided to visit the Mission San Fernando Rey de España. It’s located pretty close to us; we took Iggy and Jett so they could also get out of the house and smell the, um, well, not roses. Also, Bob Hope’s family […]

Los Feliz and Mulholland Drive
On Presidents Day we decided to walk the dogs around Los Feliz, a neat little shopping area in LA, and then drive down Mulholland from the 101 to the 405. Of course, I took pictures… All with my iPhone.
