Laid off
It finally happened – I got laid off from LaSalle Bank on June 29, 2007. First time in over 20 years. LaSalle Bank has been trying to reduce costs for years, and they’re finally putting out a bunch of people to do that. Will it work? I don’t know.
I probably should have followed events in the purchase (and likely demise) of LaSalle Bank, but I didn’t.
I spent 10 years with ABN AMRO in a wide variety of functions – that was what made it good for me, every time I needed a new challenge they gave me a good one (for example, I was part of getting senior management 20% of their bonus for at least three of the years I was with the Bank). I got a pretty good package and so don’t have to be desperate (yet). I’m looking around – my resume is here so if you know of a position for someone with my skills please give me a call or email me.
And otherwise I’m catching up on all the little projects I never had time to do, and we’re going to Paris for a few days to relax (and shop and see Chartres).
