Pictures from Palm Desert
We drove out to Palm Desert to visit Aviva’s mom and her boyfriend Dave. They’re snowbirds – they spend the winter in Palm Desert and the summer outside Detroit.
We walked on El Paseo on Thursday (lots of closed stores, not a good sign for the economy), and walked around Palm Springs on Saturday (the Sunday paper said that over 90 stores are closed in Palm Springs, also not a good sign for the economy). We stopped at the Botanical Garden again, and the owner and his father were there; they showed us around a bit, and I took a couple of pictures of interesting desert plants they raise.

This plant stinks and draws flies (they are in the center) – the flies pollinate the flower
