Neil Gaiman is a story teller in the old tradition of story tellers. Gaiman writes in the acknowledgement, “…. was the person who persuaded me that the story I told her over lunch that day really would make a good novel…..” I believe him – this is a story that could be told round a campfire.
I didn’t like the use of Caribbean language, but that’s a quibble – I read this one almost straight through on a flight home from Paris. Well worth the cost and time!
