I’m involved in my fourth outsourcing effort, and this book is a must-read if you plan to off-shore.
There are so many good recommendations in this book and so many reminders of lessons learned the hard way… If you plan to off-shore, you should plan for some amount of time-shifting; the kinds of tools and amount of shifting depend on the type of work that will be shared or moved off-shore. It’s critical that everyone on the team learn, quickly, the implicit coordination abilities and expectations of team members.
I definitely recommend this book – I plan to hand it to some people at the office to read next week.
