Dinner at Genghis Cohen in Hollywood
We went shopping most of the day, including ordering a new frame for me to check out from Retrospecs, which is our favorite optician now.
We walked over to the Pacific Design Center, which is closed on the weekend, and then to the MOCA gallery.
We couldn’t decide where to go for dinner when we remembered Genghis Cohen – Aviva had heard of this place when we lived in Chicago. They’re on Fairfax just north of Melrose.
They say the restaurant is a NYC style Chinese restaurant and I’d agree. The decor is somewhat dark, a bit claustrophobic, and includes music just right in a NYC eatery. The food was good and inexpensive; I had the Kung Pao chicken and Aviva had chicken in black bean sauce; we also shared a very nice appetizer of shrimp steamed dumplings.
