I liked this book a lot – I read about 2/3 of it on a 2 1/2 hour flight from Burbank to Seattle. There are two stories going on – one about a RPG that they decide to play on Enterprise, and the other about their first contact with an alien race. I thought the role playing game merged well with the story and helped feed it. But, I do wonder if we’d really put a starship out there without appropriate recreational opportunities.
