Arrival in Paris
The first leg was Chicago to Detroit. We arrived on the ground on time but taxied for a long time, so we just made our flight to France. Our flight was long – we were in a DC-10, which is really small and tight. But, we made it.
Our room is on the fourth floor of the Best Western A La Villa des Artistes at 9, rue de la Grande Chaumière (thankfully there is a lift). The room is small (aren't they all in Europe?) but clean and the desk staff are all nice (i said merci instead of bonjour and the fellow looked at me funny but helped us anyway). Dinner was at a local brasserie. I started reading Tulipomania: The Story of the World's Most Coveted Flower and the Extraordinary Passions it Aroused (Colour) by Mike Dash and The Wiki Way: Quick Collaboration on the Web by Leof and Cunningham.
