Aviva and I boarded Iggy for his first extended overnight (we did a one night test run first) and flew to Columbus, Ohio on Southwest Airlines for my mom’s 85th birthday on August 15; I brought along my copy of Presentation Zen Design: Simple Design Principles and Techniques to Enhance Your Presentations which I read on the flight. Very good book, now I’m thinking about teaching a mini-course at work (maybe a Toastmasters project?) on giving good presentations.

We got to meet my sister’s and husband’s new dog Mikey, a terrier mix rescue; he was kind of stand-off-ish and growled a lot (you can check out the video below, taken on my iPhone 3GS – amazing what these little hand-held computers can do).

We ordered in dinner and had a great time talking and catching up.

Since I read my book on the way out, I bought a copy of Delivering Happiness: A Path to Profits, Passion, and Purpose; I read about 2/3 of the book on the flight, I highly recommend it already.
