The topic is very interesting to me – now that we live in Los Angeles I figured it would be good to learn about our major metropolitan newspaper.

And this book didn’t disappoint – it’s a good history of the LA Times and Time Mirror Corp. interlaced with some fun and interesting stories. The writing style is direct and engaging.

However, the book is typeset in a typewriter font which is not the best choice.

Overall this is a great book on a unique and interesting topic (which I got for $1!).

Translate

Title: The Information Empire: The Rise of the Los Angeles Times and the Times Mirror Corporation Author: Jack R.
