When I first<br \/>\nvisited Amsterdam.  I love it!<\/font><\/div>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<div><font face=\"Helvetica\">You might have noticed that I have a topic on The<br \/>\nNetherlands&#8230;.<\/font><\/p>\n<p><font face=\"Helvetica\">I first visited<br \/>\nAmsterdam over twenty years ago on my way out of Saudi Arabia.  I fell in love<br \/>\nwith the city back then &#8211; it was wonderful to be able to walk around and just<br \/>\nsee things and do things.  The city felt safe mostly.  Its small enough to walk<br \/>\nall over it but big enough to stay<br \/>\ninteresting.<\/font><\/p>\n<p><font face=\"Helvetica\">Now I work for ABN AMRO<br \/>\nBank, which is the largest bank in The Netherlands (been there 8 years now) and<br \/>\naround 15th largest worldwide.  I still love visiting The Netherlands &#8211; every<br \/>\ntime, I walk around the city and discover new interesting things to see and do.<br \/>\nI&#8217;ve got travelogue pages for my trips in <a href=\"http:\/\/www.alephnaught.com\/Amsterdam\/32Vijzelstraat.jpg\">1998<\/a>,<br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.alephnaught.com\/Amsterdam2002\/index.htm\">2002<\/a>  and<br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.alephnaught.com\/AmsterdamJan2005\/index.html\">January<br \/>\n2005<\/a>.<\/font><\/p>\n<p><font face=\"Helvetica\">I love the tolerance,<br \/>\nbut I&#8217;m afraid that will change with the recent murder of Theo van Gogh and<br \/>\nother problems related to immigration.
