the cover had a great photo of half-naked slaves in a desert with their master, dressed in leather and furs and an\u00c2\u00a0alligator-like head dress.\u00c2\u00a0 I read the book at least twice, both times wishing I could read the first and later books (ah, I was probably 7 or 8 when I read it the first time and too dumb to ask my mom to check the books out of the library &#8211; she was a librarian in Fairfax county back then).<\/p>\n<p>So now I&#8217;ve read all three.\u00c2\u00a0 They are as good as I could have expected.\u00c2\u00a0 Lots of plot twists, some death, some close escapes and of course a story of love too.\u00c2\u00a0 This is &#8220;Star Wars&#8221; style stuff &#8211; don&#8217;t expect &#8220;2001: A Space Odyssey&#8221; (which I read when the film came out in 1968 when I was 9 years old &#8211; my sister had to take me to the movie for my mom to let her see it) in this book.<\/p>\n<p>A childhood memory revisited and completed &#8211;
