who passed away over 20 years ago.\u00c2\u00a0 He was a navigator helping get transport planes over the hump in Asia (Burma, er, Myanmar to China and back) during World War II.\u00c2\u00a0 He told me stories of playing Mah Jongg for money (he got his degree on the GI Bill after the war in Mathematics) and winning of course, of the famous Flying Tigers flying air cover, of heading into clouds when enemy fighters came along.\u00c2\u00a0 His favorite story was being invited to see a battle &#8211; a small unit of Japanese attached a Chinese village &#8211; the Chinese fought the Japanese off with farm implements, showing the power of thousands against the few.<\/p>\n<p>So today, remember your loved one that fought in one of America&#8217;s wars.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"translate_block\"
