Not nearly so racy as you might be led to believe by ads and reviews, this is quite a nice book on Genesis.  The graphics are pure Crumb; the women are voluptuous and the men hairy.  The best part may be R. Crumb’s end notes, where he describes how he interpreted the work.  Its interesting that he drew the serpent that gave Eve the apple with arms and legs – that was because he noted that God ordered that he slither along the ground for what he did.

The story of Lilith is missing which I find problematic – otherwise I think this is a highly accessible way to read Genesis.
