I finally fixed my web site home page!
I added an “ad” for the Metra schedule tools I’ve built, and it offset the main image map that’s the menu to my site; I wanted that image centered, and it was offset by the size of the ad.
Well, now I understand the interaction of z-index, absolute and relative positioning much better. I needed to position the ad to an absolute place, and then make the main image relative so the rest of the page would flow with it properly.
Now I want to redo the main page in a more medieval illuminated manuscript style (why not)…
