Investment Biker: Around the World with Jim Rogers

This book was recommended to me by the instructor of the ABN AMRO leadership course I took in June.

Its a very good book. It shows how an entrepaneur, Jim Rogers, looks at local economies to decide where and how to invest. It also tells a compelling story of a motorcycle ride by Jim Rogers and his girl friend around the world. At times the book is preachy, but it was a fast read and I did learn a few things, for example the importance of free currency conversion and movement to economic value. It was interesting to apply some of Jim Rogers’s concepts while traveling around Sicily, which has a depressed economy but lots of non-functioning industry – to me, it looks like general investment in areas where the Sicilians couldn’t become top dogs in a market space.
