May 7, 2004- Departing for Dublin

I brought only two books for this trip:

We left way too early for the airport; security wasn't a big deal. We're flying Aer Lingus on the trip out. We had to check our carry-on bags - apparently European airlines have lower weight constraints than US carriers. And, we sat on the plane, an Airbus 330, for over an hour pulled back from the gate because:

Aviva and I are crammed in like sardines - the seats are smaller than US carrier seats. And my laptop travel battery appears to not be working again (won't be a problem on the way home - there's power at the seat on the return trip).

But, we're on our way to Dublin.
