Like button stamp

Nation, a design studio, decided to make Like and Dislike rubber stamps that mimic the Like button from Facebook. When I saw them, I had to have them, so I ordered them. And they arrived today – here’s a sample: I can’t wait to stamp a paper at work with the Like stamp!

Image transfers

Aviva has been trying out using image transfers as an underlying part of her latest artwork; this involves copying images onto special “paper” and then using turpentine to transfer the resulting decal onto canvas. Since I know how to use Photoshop, I scan and muck up the images (mostly reducing contrast and blurring them a […]

Iggy loves dogs on TV

Whenever Iggy sees or hears a dog on TV, he stares intently and then starts barking and doing pat-a-cake; this video is the tail end of his reaction to a segment on CBS Sunday Morning on rescuing a dog.

Pasadena

We decided to head to Pasadena on Saturday, so we dropped Iggy at doggy daycare (he loves it there, he runs with the other pups and comes home and sleeps like a log) and drove out to Pasadena. We started with my goal for the trip – I wanted to see the Hiroshige print show […]

Aviva’s studio

I’ll be posting pictures here of the progress getting Aviva’s studio addition built (Aviva’s mom wanted me to start this post so she could see – the power of the internet in action!). First the slab – they had to dig twice because they didn’t go deep enough the first time for the inspector (there […]

More photographs

More pictures I’ve taken this week, mostly with my iPhone; hope you enjoy them! DirecTV had its Programmer’s Day – the companies that provide our programming bring their swag and set up in tents for a 2 1/2 hour party; it was cool to walk around and check out all the varied content DirecTV provides. Iggy chasing his leg

Basil used to chase his leg when he got excited – breeders have the tails docked on schipperkes when they are very very young puppies because its a breed standard; schipperkes have curly-q spitz tails naturally. Metldown, Farmer’s Market and Venice Beach + @thegeo & @sinburned & @judemanchu

Today is Nathan’s last day on this visit; he had arranged for us to meet up with @sinburned and @judemanchu at Meltdown, a famous comic book store in LA (in west Hollywood). We shopped and talked, and then headed over to the Farmer’s Market for lunch; we all ended up eating from the Singapore’s Banana […]
