Sarah: Women of Genesis

  • Title: Sarah: Women of Genesis
  • Author: Orson Scott Card
  • Mass Market Paperback: 352 pages
  • Publisher: Forge Books; 1st Forge Ed edition (August 30, 2001)
  • ISBN: 0765341174

I enjoyed this book a lot. Its very much fiction – as Card writes in the end notes, the Torah includes little detail and so any undertaking like this requires filling in details and even making a number of big assumptions.

That said, this story of some of the women of the Torah is amazing, and I enjoy the way Card writes – its simple, elegant, direct, almost reminiscent to me of Hemmingway in the way he uses words sparingly to get mental images across.
