While telling someone about Ender’s Game, that person mentioned Starship Troopers, which I’d never read before. So, next time in a used bookstore here in Chicago I grabbed a copy. Excellent choice!

This book is really fun! Its written as if it were by a Mobile Infantry (MI) trooper, a starship trooper. It starts with a battle, then goes back in time to why Rico, the main character, joined the military, and continues through boot camp and his early service, up to when he has his first battle as an officer. Its very lucid, well written and exciting; in this case, I even enjoyed the explanations because they were usually not about science but instead about sociology.

This is a definite must-read!
