Christmas eve

We decided to shop today as the museums close early – its hard to believe its Christmas eve today. We started at a glass shop recommended to us here – it opens at 2 today. The store that sells St. Maria Novella perfumes and soaps has closed or moved. We ate lunch at Boul’ Mich’ Cafe.

We shopped all day. We ended up in the Latin Quarter. I got myself figures of the Asterix comics my mom brought home for me to read when I was young, along with a box of 30 postcards from the comics.

We found Harem, a jewelry store recommended by the owner of The Left Bank, one of Aviva’s favorite stores in Chicago. While Aviva shopped there, I got Paris soccer team jerseys for Nathan and I. We found the rest of our gifts in the neighborhood. This neighborhood was very culturally diverse.

We ate at Le Procope, which dates back to 1686; Napoleon, Voltaire, Rousseau, Balzac and Hugo all ate there.
